Very well organized and laid out in a way that it was easy to go through the material step by step . . .

The book is heavily dependent on a series of follow-along sample files. These files are not always included with purchase, I got them from my professor. Using these files is an excellent hands-on learning tool, and the book provides step-by-step instructions through each exercise. On its own, however, it is little more than a reference text.

cheaper than college book store- it was the exact book I had to have! However, I will say I fussed the whole time I had to carry it... Its huge- the pages are thin and rip easily- YUK YUK YUK I hated this class! lol glad it is over!

Pros: Simple to use, Clear writing and Pictures.Cons: Some variances depending upon if you're using Windows 7 or 8.This was a great book to gain an basic understanding of Microsoft programs. Definitely helps to learn the 2013 Windows programs' new features, or learn how to use Windows features in general.

I needed this book for a college class I was taking and my instructor had us get the wrong one through the book store so I found this one here used but it was practically brand new and more than worth the price I paid and it came in quickly which was very helpful also as I didn't fall behind on work. It was a great purchase.

This book consists ENTIRELY of examples and steps to follow. There's no explanation, no "do this to achieve this end", it's all rhetorical and requires files provided by your professor to even make sense of, which means it is useless after the class ends. I regret buying this book, it's definitely a rent book.

Used this as college textbook. The book is fantastic in learning how to use Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Everything is clear in text and visuals. This is a big, heavy book that lays flat beside my computer for ease of use, and the print is large enough to easily read while working at the computer. I'll be keeping this to use at home and at my office job.

The book came HEAVILY marked with highlighter in multiple colors and MUCH writing in the margins. This was very distracting to me while trying to read the text. It was described as being in better condition than this. This book also had a torn page (which I fixed with archival tape). This book needs to be retired it is almost impossible to use. I am very disappointed and that is a first.

Currently renting this book. When It arrived it was covered in liquid and foods stains. Coffee or soda maybe. Anyways, what ever kind of drink/food was on the book my hound dog absolutely loved it and chewed the cover up. I guess I'm buying this book now. *heavy sigh*

In the interest of full disclosure, I must share at the outset that:1. I have known the author, Gerald Eades Bentley Jr. (Jerry) for most of my life. He was like a second father to me,2. I am mentioned in the book, and3. I grew up hearing many of the stories he has shared in this book. They fascinated me each time Jerry or his wife Beth told them to us.Most of Jerry’s writing has been academic – he was a teacher, a Blake scholar and a collector. But those of us who knew him personally, loved him and enjoyed listening to his stories of adventures in England, Algeria, France, India, China and other places, had been asking him for years to record them. I am delighted he finally did.Jerry passed away unexpectedly in August 2017 and his daughters were determined to publish his memoir posthumously. Having the book to read now is like having Jerry nearby. When I flip through the pages of Boondoggles: Travels of a Restless Professor, it is almost as if we are sitting together on the porch of his summer cottage at Lake Michigan – Jerry’s deep voice is telling me a story with his unique turn of phrase and sense of humor. In the pages of Boondoggles I see his unique storytelling style, his ease at engaging with people of any age and any background, and I experience all over again those adventures with polar bears, long boats, kangaroos and protest marches, that regaled me throughout my childhood.The kind of traveling Jerry and Beth, and often their daughters, Sarah and Julia, did cannot happen any more because the world has changed irrevocably. This makes Boondoggles a precious document of a bygone era. Jerry and Beth met in 1950 in a pub in Wales, then by chance that same summer on a bridge in Venice, and finally, a few weeks later in Paris, after which they realized they knew whom they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with – each other. That could have been the end of the traveling, as it is for many. Jerry could have gone on to be an academic and settled down to work and married life with Beth in a university town. Instead he became an academic, they made a base in Toronto where he taught at the university, and Beth also made it possible for them to travel frequently. They taught and lectured, exploring the world along the way. Often they were in a new country for a year at a time, and frequently that was the starting point of other expeditions to far-flung parts of the world. From bicycling in France on their honeymoon while the Tour de France was in progress – Beth cycled along with competitors for a bit – to living in a houseboat on Kashmir’s Dal Lake years later, the Bentleys did it all. As Jerry writes, “For 59 years, Beth managed my life firmly and inconspicuously. Hurricanes, revolutions, poverty, respectability – nothing fazed her. Beth could always manage.”You will learn more about Beth, and Jerry, as you travel through Boondoggles but you do not have to know them personally to start this book and enjoy it. "Jesus Was an Episcopalian" is a great book for anyone wanting to learn more about the Episcopal church. It gives some historical background as well as humorous stories about life in the Episcopal church. It is a good read for seasoned church members as well as new ones. Brief biographies of Episcopalians are also included in some of the margin notes. It shows that the Episcopal church is continuing to move to show God's love in our world.

I recently decided to leave the Catholic Church, and needed to find a new faith home. This book answered all of my questions, in a very friendly, readable, concise manner. I am now a very happy Episcopalian, and recommend this book to anyone I meet who is exploring this faith.
