Back in the Game by Meghan Quinn was originally part of the Team Player Anthology which has now been released on its own. This is a quick and charming read for all Meghan Quinn fans and a preface of sorts to One Baby Daddy but can totally be read on its own.I must say I loved Calder Weiss. What man would dress up as a fairy for his daughter and go out in public? The fairy even had a name, Wanda! Who would not love a man like that? His life has always been about his daughter. He always put her first. But when he literally slaps a woman with his wings, he knows she is different.Rachel was minding her own business when she is literally attacked by fairy wings who belong to one of the hottest and sexiest man she has ever met. The attraction is instant, and their chemistry is off the charts. I love the banter between these two. His being a famous hockey player had no impact on their relationship. It was something he did, Rachel saw past that.I absolutely loved this short story. It was charming, full of chemistry and so damn sweet with very light angst. Rachel and Calder were meant to be together. My only compliant was I would have loved to have read more about Calder and Rachel. But it does sounds like we will see more of them in One Baby Daddy!Read and reviewed for Reviews From The Heart.Happy reading!
What a smart, cute, sexy and dirty novella Ms. Quinn has given us with Calder and Rachel's story. These two meet in the most unexpected of ways and so begins their foray into the dating world. While Rachel hasn't necessarily been on a hiatus, Calder has thanks to his darling little girl Shea.Once he decides he's going to go for it is when all the fun begins. Rachel is smart and sassy and can keep up with Calder and all his innuendos...which oh my goodness, talk about being on the same page. I loved everything about this book and these two as a couple. There's mostly ups that at times had me snorting with laughter and few downs but overall a fabulous quick read. We also get the setup for One Baby Daddy and I can't wait for Hayden's book!!!
This is a standalone novella, so my review will also be short and sweet, because I don't want to spoil you anything... ;) it's not gonna be easy to do, but I will try my best :) so not such a long story even shorter... ;) Calder is a hockey player and a single dad... he didn't really had the time to date anyone for quite a while... but lately, things started to change... so when he met Rachel in the most unusual way, he decided to go for it and tried to win her over :) I can't tell you anything else about the plot of the story, because I would have to spoil you more than half of the book ;) so instead let me jump into all the reasons why I adored it :)I gave this novella 5 stars :) I inhaled it... because of the amazingly entertaining writing style, it was a super fast read :) I think my favourite part were the witty and hilarious text messages between our main couple ;) all of their interactions really... ;) Calder was surprisingly sweet... I did not expect him to have this vulneralbe / awkward side... ;) it was simply adorable :) and Rachel was fun and confident... the way they met is definitely one of my favourites I read in like forever... not many women can say that they met the love of their life when he slapped her with his fairy wing outside of a bathroom... yep, you read that correctly :) even though the book is short, the relationship between them don't feel rushed... I liked how over time they connected more with each oher... how that connection grew and changed... :) plus, you should know by now, that hockey players are my kryptonite in books... #NoShame ;) this was not my first story wrriten by this author, and it will definitly not be the last.. :) if she's new to you, this novella is the perfect way to see how amazing she is, and to get completely hooked by her entertaining writing style... I highly recommend you guys to give it a try and fall in love... with our main couple, their story, and this lovely author :)
I really loved this book. It was about a single dad who's daughter was his world and he would do anything for including dress up in public! He literally bumps into Rachel and it is instant sparks. Calder has been out of the game for 5 years because he has put his daughter first. He doesn't know what it is about Rachel that makes him want but he does. The feeling is intense and mutual until Rachel asks about meeting his daughter. Calder freezes because he is afraid if things don't work out that his daughter will be hurt yet again and she comes before everyone. This was a very cute story but could have been longer. I look forward to book 2 which is Calder's friend Hayden's story, hopefully we will get a little more of Rachel and Calder.
This is a sweet novella about Calder a single dad and hockey player who after a 5 year hiatus is considering dating again. While taking his daughter Shea out to eat he meets Rachel who is a kindergarten teacher and might I add while he’s dressed as Wanda the fairy princess with wings and a tiara! They completely hit it off and Calder asks her out on a date and she accepts. This is where the fun begins the banter and the sexy text messages oh my!!!Romantic comedy standalone from both POV that has a happy ending.We see a little bit of Hayden being Calder’s teammate and best friend and all. Hayden stars in his own story One Baby Daddy that is already released.
I was looking for a hot hockey romance and I wasn't disappointed, Calder is a single father who while taking his daughter to lunch dressed as a fairy bumped into Lauren a kindergarten teacher with a great sense of humor who can appreciate a big strong hockey player who is not afraid to dress up like a fairy in public to make his little girl happy.He's a little out of practice when it comes to dating but he knows that he likes this woman and she knows that she's going to have to put in a little extra work to let him know that she is not going anywhere and can be trusted to meet his little girl.I loved it
