High-altitude dwellers, rejoice!I live in Denver and have a tough time finding recipes that work in high-altitude areas. Websites exist to help with conversions but none are needed in their book! I love Pinterest recipes as much as the next person but prefer this cookbook because I don't have to worry about modifying the recipe for high-altitude.There are TONS of recipes and they're organized in a practical way so you are able to easily find poultry recipes, cake recipes, etc.This book is several years old - maybe 20 but the recipes are still great! My aunt introduced me to this cookbook. Every time she makes something, it's wonderful and I ask for the recipe and without fail, she got it from this cookbook.

I have been using this cookbook for years. I don't like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen but love good food. Every recipe that I have tried has been great. I just bought another copy to give as a bridal shower present, knowing that a new cook will appreciate the simplicity of such great recipes as Marinated Grilled Flank Steak, Chicken Durango, Pedro's Delight. My other favorite cookbook is the Creme de Colorado, also by the Junior League of Denver.

I should have gotten the complete set rather than the Hornbook. As it is so heavily edited, this book has very limited usefulness.

Remedies was my favorite class in law school, because it gives you a more practical idea of what the law is useful for. I found this Hornbook incredibly helpful for the class.

The book is O.K. but it's a little out dated. Laws have greatly changed since this latest edition. It waists pages by explaining useless and ancient history of law and torts. Provides a broad outine of torts with sometimes poor english and sentence structure.It's a necessary read but some tort case outcomes leave you out in no-where unless you look the case up and read it for yourself.Nothing exciting.

The Rubank Blue Books have been around for quite some time and they still work great. I first used these 50 years ago when I studied the clarinet and saxophone. And when I went back to re-learn these instruments a couple years ago, I discovered that my new teacher is also using them.If you are using these to teach yourself just remember that each page is a Lesson and I only took one lesson per week when I was starting out. The lessons build on each other and Rubank has a nasty habit of throwing in little things in the exercises that force you to remember and apply what you supposedly learned in a previous lesson. :-)So pace yourself accordingly, don't skip lessons, and don't try to rush through anything.

As a student and teacher, I've always liked the Rubank books. However, many students I've had can find them dry because they focus mostly on technique and don't always include many recognizable tunes. This is very true of this particular beginners book, so I would not use it as the ONLY book a for a beginner. However, it is very good at what it is designed to do, so I would use this book to develop technique in combination with a book like A New Tune a Day, which focuses more on playing recognizable tunes. For a student who really enjoys the clarinet and wants to excel, Rubank offers a focus on developing technique that is missing from most of the band method and other beginners books.

This clarinet book was exactly what the teacher recommended! It is a good second book to the initial beginner book. It breaks down every lesson for beginners to advanced players. My daughter thinks it is best suited for 7th or 8th grade. My daughter has improved with the things that this book taught her. I would recommend this book to anyone that has already mastered a beginner book. It challenges a player but isn't so hard that they lose confidence or interest.

This remains the standard for learning the clarinet. I have been away from the clarinet for about 50 years. I used this book when I first started so I went back to it. It is coming back very quickly. The only difficulty is the old fingers and lungs do not want to cooperate. I would recommend this to anyone who is beginning the clarinet. The exercises, though they may seem boring, do develop the skills needed to play the instrument well.

I love the Rubank books. I have been using them for years. Just the fact that they are still in print is an indication of how good they are. I had two semesters of clarinet over 40 years ago, but don't remember much, so this will help me get back to it.

If you never picked up a clarinet before, you will need instruction on how to hold the clarinet, proper posture, breathing, etc. You will also need a basic knowledge of reading music. Otherwise, an excellent series of exercises for learning the clarinet, which yours truly is working on.

Best of the best. Been around forever. I learned from it in the 50s.

An excellent but dry teaching method. Sometimes there are recognizable tunes, but it is mostly notehashing and scales. Makes for a great tool, but would be best supplemented with something more fun

I took a four month training course for Netware 4.11 at a local college and this was the book that our instructor used to teach the class. I found this book to be very informative and the software and practice quizzes were excellent in preparing you for all of the CNE exams. The software that comes with the book is very useful and essential for studying for your CNE. It even comes with a 2 user version of intranetware 4.11! You also get the Clarke tests cd, which is quite useful, but I would recommend that someone seeking to be certified to purchase the Big Red study test from Novell.These test questions come directly from Novell's testing database. With this book and the Big Red tests you will have the success you seek!

I don't need all the hand-holding and filler information this book contains... BUT, I know this stuff really helps people that don't have as much experience as some of us.One person complained about none of these certification books being written at higher levels. You know why they don't do that? Because the people at those levels don't need the books at all. Novell's website and documentation is enough for them.

Once you get past the korny jokes and korny zen phrases you finally get to the Useful information. These two books could have easily compiled to one.. The author needed to focus on content instead of filling pages with useless text...
