The chapters are broken down into important topics related to family involvement, including “hot topics†and ideas related to the importance of family involvement in school success. This book could easily become the go-to item for schools or organizations looking to improve or build up family-school partnerships.Research has shown us that family involvement is critical to a child’s success in education. This book gives you the tools you need to help to identify ways to improve family involvement in your school, child care, or family organization. It is easily applicable to any age level, and any level of teaching experience. This book helps educators and parents move beyond newsletters and parent conferences to find mutually beneficial ways to keep families and schools working together.The final two chapters of the book are especially useful, as they provide lists of resources in helping to build partnerships and a variety of checklists, surveys, and tools to help develop partnerships between families and schools. This book covers it all – from beginning to develop a relationships, to moving that relationship into a partnerships. I only opened the book once and all of the pages have come loose from the binding making it hard to hold and read or transport. Its either a poor design or a defective book. Definitely not okay with it.

Felt very idealistic at times, but if this helps school districts achieve even just a fraction of that partnership, that would be a wonderful improvement. Full of ideas and examples.
Great resource for any school district looking to build parent and community partnerships. If you are a "Focus" or "Priority" district in New York State, this is full of perfect resources for Tenet 6.
Amazing resource! I work in a non-profit with parents and this is one of my favorite books! I heard about it while I was at a national conference for strengthening families and am so happy I bought it. It was a little pricey but worth every penny!
