There are some useful concepts in this book. For the price I didn't expect a lot. But be aware it won't actually teach you how to really implement the ideas. You'll have to pay $2,000 for that information. If the up-sell course actually works, it would be worth the cash. But it's an enormous pill to swallow.
The overarching concept is there, but all in all, the book explains the what and withholds the how so that you will buy into the author's investment program. Not that $2.99 is a rip off, but if you value your time and the handful of hours it will take to read it, just know that the book is intentionally left incomplete so that you get lured into the training school. I didn't check pricing or anything, but even if it's free, which is next to impossible, I still came away feeling like more of the how to should have been in the book and not dangled overhead as a shiny object you need to chase down and pay more money for. It's a book that's had several pages intentionally torn out to put it one way. If you're looking for an investment school and to be sold software, etc, give it a read. If you're looking for an in depth educational read on strategic land buying, I wouldn't recommend the effort it takes to absorb this one.
This isn't your typical Real Estate investment book. Mark shows the reader how to get started in an often overlooked segment of the Real Estate market, land. Boring right? Not at all, the author gives example after example of deals he's worked and lays out the basic framework to get started. He notes in the book that you can purchase his land investment classes but unlike similar books you actually leave with actionable information to get started. I recommend Dirt Rich to anyone looking for something different than the typical house flip or rental.
I really enjoyed this book! I've read a lot of real estate books over the last year or two. Most are written by authors who sound like a stereotypical used car salesperson. They're very "Get Rick Quick"-oriented even if you have no money to invest, no education, etc. A handful are thoughtfully written by intelligent authors but read more like dry academic textbooks. In this book, Mark Podolsky has written in a thoughtful, intelligent way while introducing a subject in a way that is both engaging and informative. I also appreciated that, while he does offer coaching /educational services, his book does not read like an advertisement for those programs. Great book for anyone who is interested in learning how to invest in vacant land.
An interesting prospective of how to invest in real estate. Mark is very knowledgeable and presents the material as an easy to understand story. My only criticize would be that the book is a pitch to sell you his course. Beyond that, though, there is useful content that you can pull to start your own land investing business.
I found myself searching for a way to create a passive income stream in my life so I could escape the grind of corporate America. I learned about Mark's story and was inspired to do a version of it for myself. I'm on my way to retiring at 50 and I have Mark and his roadmap/tips to thank for it. Very easy to read and understand as his writing voice is very conversational and relatable. I highly recommend this book!
I found this book very informative and truly relevant. As a physician who still works trading hours for dollars, I found Mark Podolsky’s methods intriguing! He simplifies a fantastic niche of real estate investing- proving that land has true benefits over other real estate investments, such as the typical headaches that result from from risky rehabs, and tenant troubles. Best of all, he has managed to automate his program with technology and systems, allowing the reader to envision how life could be improved by having time freedom- while the land business almost runs on auto-pilot! This book fills in all the missing pieces that other programs fail to address. I look forward to joining his other students on the road to real estate success through land investing!
It's a dirty secret, but what a secret! I tried wholesaling houses, flipping houses, rehabbing houses, renting houses, you name it. I started looking at apartments and note buying to transition into working smarter, not harder, when I found Mark's niche. I'm hooked! What would you rather do, pay the rehab and mortgage on a rental hoping the tenants don't destroy your property or stop making payments long enough for you to deposit that $200 profit, or would you rather buy land outright with one month's mortgage and get that same $200 a month without toilets, tenants, trash or termites? -Just Sayin
